Great River Aviation is proud to partner with Sallie Mae to allow you the opportunity to choose the finance program that best suits your flight training needs. Students can borrow up to 100% of the cost of all flight training including books and supplies. Additional living expense money is also offered by both financial institutions.

All you need to do is complete the online loan application. In most cases, each student is approved within 48 hours for a loan that provides 100% of all pilot school tuition, housing, living expenses. Once you are approved, you can begin your flight training immediately.

Personal or Recreational Pilot

What if you wish to fly for personal pleasure or recreation, or maybe you want to buy your own airplane and fly for your own business? There is also financing for flight training of this type with Sallie Mae Finance.

A completed application along with the borrower's signature ID and most recent pay stub is faxed to SLM. An application can obtain from Great River Aviation or download Sallie Mae Application. “Select Career Training Loan from the website. Follow the instructions listed on the PDF form and return the completed form to Great River Aviation.” After a credit evaluation, the student is either approved or advised to find a co-borrower.

Within 24 hours, the school is notified as to what the student’s rate, supplemental fee, term, and monthly payment will be.

SLM e-mails the Promissory Note and Disclosure to the affiliate school.

The Note and Disclosure are signed by the student and mailed back to SLM Financial.
